Acts 43-45 Everyone around was in awe—all those wonders and signs done through the apostles! And all the believers lived in a wonderful harmony, holding everything in common. They sold whatever they owned and pooled their resources so that each person’s need was met. ~ The Message Bible

I have often thought about this example of sold out followers in acts, selling everything and pooling their resources so that everyone’s needs we’re met. What would this look like in our contexts? Extreme generosity? Communal living? Monastic lifestyle? Not owning anything? … I swing back and forth between wanting to go “over the edge” and reject any comfort or convenient thing that might get in the way of living out love, true sacrificial love… And the rational of well that was then and this is now and the world is different now. You have to have your own car and pots and pans and jacket and computer and personal space… the list goes on.

I pray Holy Spirit will speak to me and the ones I do life with about how we can live different than the world around us so that we can be the family/community of the Kingdom of God.
