Today I thought of the privilege and, at the same time, the responsibility that we have as a bride of the living God. We are the bride and He is our groom. The groom marries the bride because he loves her and trusts her. And God loves us with unconditional love, He is jealous and can’t stand it if there is anything that takes His first place in our life. That could be things that seem to be good and are good such as ministering to others, education, book reading, music, children and many others. If it comes between me and God and takes God’s first place, it is sin. We were created for Him and through Him. In Revelation God says to the church in Ephesus, that He knows their hard work and perseverance and that He knows that they havn’t grown weary and have endured, and were persecuted for God’s name, but that something basic was still wrong:

“But I have this against you, that you have abandoned the love you had at first.” Rev 2:1-7

Nothing can take first place but our love for God. Jana
